If you're not sure yet what your major will be, or which university you want to transfer to, there are some great resources in CAS to help you make up your mind - and use your time wisely in the meanwhile! First, you should take a look at the different university degrees and pathways that are available to you. Check out degrees that are listed with Transfer Pathways of AA-GR, ABus-GR or AS-GR. These degrees have enough room in them for electives at the lower division that if you take your time in deciding what you want to major in, or where you want to transfer, you can still get your degree in a timely manner. These degrees don't require that you make your decision until after your second year of coursework. Degrees that are listed with AA-SR, ABus-SR or AS-SR pathways require you to make a decision by your second year of coursework. Degrees that are listed with TG-XR pathways require you to make a decision within your first year of coursework! As you're reviewing your options, you may decide that want to complete an AGEC. The completed AGEC will satisfy your lower-division general education requirements at any Arizona public university. If you complete an AGEC-S (which has the math and science requirements needed by Science majors) you will also have satisfied the requirements for degrees that require an AGEC-B or an AGEC-A. If you complete the AGEC-B (which has the math requirements needed by Business majors), you will also have satisfied the requirements for degrees that require AGEC-A. The AGEC-A has the least stringent math and science requirements - so if you complete AGEC-A and then decide to do a degree in Business or Science, you may have some additional math and/or science requirements to complete as part of your preparation for the major! You can also go to CAS, enter courses you've already taken, and create some personalized transfer planning guides for different university majors. You'll be able to see how those courses would apply to the university degree - and you can create lots of different guides and then compare and contrast the results to see which majors best fit the courses you've already taken! Please work closely with your advisor to determine the best way to achieve your transfer goals!
*Note: this guarantee assumes that you select ONLY the required university courses after you transfer, and that you do not change your university or your major after you transfer. It also assumes that you do not take on additional requirements like an extended minor, double-major, or any other such additional work. To make this happen, you will need to work very closely with your university advisor after you transfer. |
