I'm looking for a degree in Business - how can CAS help me?

If you're not sure yet what your major will be, or which university you want to transfer to, there are some great resources in CAS to help you make up your mind - and use your time wisely in the meanwhile!

First, you should take a look at the different university degrees and pathways that are available to you. Look for degrees that use the AGEC-B, and that have identified the Transfer Pathway of ABus-GR or ABus-SR. These are degrees that allow you to complete the AGEC and an associate's degree (which may include some special requirements) before you transfer to the unversity, and finish your university degree in 56-60 additional credits*.

It's important to be sure that the degrees you are interested in are listed in the Degrees and Pathways list as accepting an AGEC-B and an ABus-SR or ABus-GR pathway. Degrees marked "TG-XR" in that list have exceptional requirements that mean you need to be sure you follow the University Transfer Guide for that major!

You can be sure that if you complete your AGEC, but then change your mind about your university or major - you'll still be admissable to the university and your lower-division general education will be complete. If you complete your Associate of Business degree, you can further be certain that you'll be able to transfer with junior status to the university!

If you complete the requirements for the AGEC-B, you will automatically also have completed the requirements for the AGEC-A (which is used for degrees in the fine arts, humanities and social sciences), so if you decide you'd rather do an arts, humanities or social science degree, you'll be OK. Beware, though, that the math and science requirements in the AGEC for science majors are more advanced than those for business majors. If you change your mind and decide to major in science, you may have to take more advanced math and science courses than you did for your AGEC-B. If you think you might want to be a science major - you should complete the AGEC-S!

You can also go to CAS, enter courses you've already taken, and create some personalized transfer planning guides for different university majors. You'll be able to see how those courses would apply to the university degree - and you can create lots of different guides and then compare and contrast the results to see which majors best fit the courses you've already taken!

Please work closely with your advisor to determine the best way to achieve your transfer goals!

*Note: this guarantee assumes that you select ONLY the required university courses after you transfer, and that you do not change your university or your major after you transfer. It also assumes that you do not take on additional requirements like an extended minor, double-major, or any other such additional work. To make this happen, you will need to work very closely with your university advisor after you transfer.
