AGEC GPA and University Admissions - Policy and Supporting Info
Policy Statement:
"Students who complete the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC-A, AGEC-B, or AGEC-S) with a minimum 2.0 on a 4.0=A scale, or students who complete an associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with a minimum 2.0 on a 4.0=A scale for Arizona residents and a minimum 2.5 on a 4.0=A scale for non-residents, shall be considered to be exempt from Arizona university admission requirements."

"At this point, there is a possibility that a student could be admitted with less than an overall GPA of 2.0. While this is unlikely, it is possible. Data will be collected by the universities to determine the success of students who are admitted with a 2.0 GPA in AGEC or Associate Degree, but may not have a 2.0 GPA overall. If there is a trend which suggests that these students do not perform as well as students who are admitted with a 2.0 GPA overall or other AGEC or Associate Degree completers, the universities will recommend a change in policy to the Arizona Board of Regents."
